I took a road trip to Margaret River with my friends last weekend. We rented a car, booked a villa by the beach, packed some food and took a 4 hr drive to Margaret River. Did a lot of stopping in between to sight see, eat and enjoy the scenery. Perth is a beautiful place. I'm just going to show a lot of pictures so enjoy them.

This was after 2 hrs of driving. We went to the Dolphin discovery centre but unfortunately, we didn't see any dolphins.

This was at the world's longest jetty. We took a walk down the jetty. Took us about half an hour just to walk to the end, and another half hr to walk back. The scenery was stunning.

Then we drove down to the villa which Fatima booked and we got a mansion! It was so beautiful, with 5 room, a living room, a dining area, an outside jacuzzi, a kitchen..and the view from the master bedroom was just amazing. The beach was right in front of us so of course I went crazy with the photo taking.

The master bedroom, which Fatima, Anjuli and I got.

The living room

The jacuzzi

The view from the balcony of my room.

The view at sunset.

Then, after ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the cottage, we went down to the beach to take a dip in the water. The water was so clean and clear! And the scenery was so beautiful! I swam, and froze, and saw the sun set.

We had dinner at a fancy restaurant on the first night. We had paella, and pizza, and chilli mussels and they had red and white wine while I had orange juice. It was freezing by the time we went for dinner cos the girls took forever to dress up.

On the 2nd day, we went to Surfers Point, a lookout point and a place where surfers went to do their thing. The waves were huge.

Then, for the rest of the day, we visited 2 wineries, an olive factory (I love olives esp bread dipped in olive oil. Yum.), a chocolate factory (Loved that too), a jam factory and a cheese factory. I tasted so many chocolates, and jam, and olive and bread that I actually felt sick.

The girls, by the winery. This was the oldest winery in Western Australia.

Fatima, imitating me. :)

We tried to jump simultaneously. Took us about 6 attempts before we perfected it.

We went clubbing in the evening to this reggae club where there was live music. Very nice. We met this black guy from Ghana, who tried to pick the 3 of us up. But we weren't interested. ;)

Then when we got back to the villa, I decided to try on Fatima's Club Monaco dress. It was so soft and comfy but a little big for me.

The same dress. I just pulled it up tp show more legs. And that was Fatima's nine west heels. To die for.

On our way back to Perth main city.

I had so much fun. I have never taken a road trip before so this was definitely a first for me. I ate and I laughed and I talked the night away with the girls and we listened to old hip hop and rnb music and Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, with Fatima and me singing out loud to Whitney and Celine, much to the chargrin of Anjuli (who hates Celine Dion) and putting on make up for each other, and trying on each other's clothes.
We are planning for another one of these trips later on in the year, and this time round, we intend to go further south, all the way to Albany.
Right now, it's back to the books. I've completed one assignment. Only.

I feel a lot better now. So I'm going to blog about happy things. We went to a house party on Sat and Foiza and Rushika decided to come to my place first to get their make up and hair done by me. And of course, everyone knows I love make up and doing people up, so I had a great time twisting Foiza's hair into a French braid and curling Rushika's hair. :) And of course, we took pictures in my room just before we left for the party.

Foiza, Rushika and me.

Taken at the balcony of my house.

I like this picture. I look thin. Yes, Im shallow. :)

On another note altogether, as everyone knows, I am a poor student. So I didn't think I would be doing much shopping here as I thought everything here's going to cost a bomb. But I discovered the garage sales and second hand stores. And the things they have at these places are absolutely fabulous. Check these out. And the prices too. DIRT CHEAP.

Knee length skirt from 2nd hand store- $1.50.

Kimono top from garage sale- $5

Woolen jacket from 2nd hand store- $5

Short dress from Target, I actually bought this from the kid's section- $20.

Tunic dress from Supre, my only expensive buy here- $50

Victoria Beckham jeans from garage sale- $3!!!!!! Gorgeous jeans. 1 size bigger than what I normally wear but I don't care!

Pair of heels from 2nd hand store- $6

And my favourite buy of all, a fur trimmed jacket which I got at a 2nd hand store for only $14!!! It leather with fur trimmings at the collar and sleeves. Keeps me warm during winter. And it's getting cold now.

I have 4 papers due in 6 weeks. I am screwed. Urgh....

This is a bad week. I couldn't sleep at night. I tried meditating at night, which I normally do before I sleep every night to calm my mind, but it didn't work this week. A lot of crying in the night and yesterday was really bad. I started tearing in class, and started sobbing in the library. I feel very sad and empty inside. It has been alright the past few weeks but this week is all coming back. And I'm not even pms-ing.

I'm so tired of having to be strong all the time. I am. But I know if I just break down, people will get worried and I hate that to happen. So I'll trudge on and have faith in God.

I thank god for my new friends here. They are a source of distraction and they are wonderful. But it's still very hard. For those of you who know what I'm going through, thanks for always being there and making sure I'm ok. Maya, Diana, Nad, Wendy, Angela and Vidhu. Love you guys. I'll be fine, don't worry. :) I hope it gets better.

I went to Northbridge on Friday night with my girlfriends. I had class till 6 and Fatima, Anri, Anjuli and me to a bus down to Northbridge. Northbridge is like the equiavalent of our Clarke Quay/ Mohammad Sultan. So we dressed up and went to have dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant and then walked down to a pub called The Elephant & Wheelbarrow. Had drinks, I had coke, and talked. We're planning for a road trip in 2 weeks time to the outskirts of Perth- Margaret River, Albany for about 3 days since we are having a 1 week vacation. That will be fun. Although I hope I can actually get started on writing my papers. I have 4- 5000 word papers due by end May and I better get my butt moving and start thinking and writing.

Didn't take much pictures but here are some.

Fatima and me.

Anri- She's a shopaholic. I thought I was bad. She's worse.

Anjuli wore the most gorgeous leopard print jacket. Utterly gorgeous.

I'm going to eat fish and chips this Sunday. And buy flanel pyjamas cos the weather is freezing at night. 14 degrees. Going to get colder soon.
