Merry Xmas everyone! I had a really good time this Xmas. Nad came down to Spore, for about 5 days and we managed to catch up for 3 full days. It was really nice having her back. She has been away forever, since 1997. And we only managed to meet up again in 2006 when I went to Melbourne for a holiday. And ever since then, we have managed to meet each other almost every year. It's either I fly over or she flies over.

It's funny how with some people, there are no awkward silences even after not meeting for years. And it's like that with her. We have been best friends since we were 13, when we were both dorks (but thought we were 'oh so cool'. LOL) and we went through the trials and tribulations of teenage angst together. And when she migrated to Melbourne, it was one of the saddest moments for me cos it was like losing a friend. And true enough, for almost 10 years, we lost contact cos she was really bad at sending emails and calling and I was pre occupied with my life here. So when I finally met up with her again in 2006, when I first flew down to Melbourne for a holiday, it was just fantastic cos we just carried on where we last left off in 1997. :) I guess that's the beauty about genuine and close friendship. Distance does not make a difference. And like I said earlier, since 2006, we have met each other every year at least once, if not, twice. This year alone, I have seen her 4 times. :)

So what did we do in Spore? We ate a lot. The countless coffees, lime juice, and lychee and rambutan drinks,  the peanut butter with banana and cream toast (sounds really gross? Its so bloody yum!), apple and cinnamon filled pretzel, the satay, bbq-ed chicken wings and sambal sting ray at Lau Pa Sat, Thai food, the buffet at Hyatt...IT WAS BAD! We were out of control!! People were staring cos we sat there for a full 2 hrs! Just eating! LOL! Even I was impressed by our ability to pack it in. Of course, the shopping. She went crazy, and of course, I went crazy. I always do when it comes to shopping. Got a cute cropped jacket, a hot copper/ gold jumper (very, very sexy. YAY!), sandals, make up....And just talking and talking and talking....It was really really nice to have her back. She makes me really happy and it was so great to be able to do things which we used to do when we were younger, just that we are much more older, and financially better able to spend. :)

One more week before school starts. I've got to start doing my lesson prep, but one more partying to do! New Years Eve!! And Fatima's coming down from perth!! YAY! :)

I just came back from Perth. Been a while since I came back, and it was a pretty last minute decision to come. But Im so glad I did. It was really nice being back. Countless times in Singapore, when I was swamped with work, or alone at home, or just feeling miserable, I would think of my friends back in Perth, and how happy I was there, and I would feel really sad, and wondered if they remembered me. Yes, yes, that's the paranoid me talking, And coming back to Perth, all my fears were uncalled for. My friends were so excited and happy to see me, and everyone tailored their schedules around me and everyone met me up as many times as they possibly could. The first evening I met the whole gang, everyone started screaming and shrieking. LOL!! It was really uncool but I didn't care.:)

It was a really fun trip. I did so many things, and had time to relax as well. My mornings were spent sleeping in, and when I woke up, I was always greeted by Sharifah's cute baby, Mikael. And I would just laze around in the house, having a slow and leisurely breakfast and drinking tea while taking rubbish to Sha. And the rest of the day I would meet up my friends, and we did a gazillion and one things. I went back to the Swan River, where I used to do my runs andused to stay, went to Kings Park where I rolled around in the grass and talked and talked and talked to Rushika and Mark, shopping trips with Rushika at Harbour Town, and Ryan in the city where he bought me a hot pair of maroon wedges for Xmas!!, Freemantle where I had Cicerellos Fish and Chips (I missed those!), Scarborough Beach for lunch, Subiaco where we went for the Subi Street Fest and I bought my favourite honey roasted cashews home, countless of coffee sessions, South Perth where I had dinner facing the river (Stunning) and I discovered a new place! Leederville. Very cool place, reminds me a little of Brunswick Street in Melbourne. Had the best cafes there and I went a little insane. Went back there 3 times!!

And I had so much to eat!!! My God..... I had those fish and chips, and I got addicted to the ferraro rocher gelato (I had the damn thing THRICE!!!), Jaffar's pie (I used to devour those like crazy when I was in uni!), the crazy pies at Leederville, yum cha on Northbridge (YUM!!!), countless of cakes, dessert, urgh.....And no exercise at all!! Nvm, will go back to busting my ass at the gym now that Im back. :P

And of course, the partying. It was hell of a lot of fun! We clubbed twice. To the Mint on Friday night, and we danced like maniacs. Forgot how fun it was! Music wasnt that fantastic but the company more than made up for it. :) And we also went to a club in Freemantle on Sat night. Crazy crowd and interesting mix of people. Fun, fun, fun.

Most importantly, I had such a great time cos I got to meet up every single one of my friends there. We had group outings and I also got to spend time with every single one of them individually. We had dinners together, we watched a movie, we clubbed, there was a lot of talking and catching up, and a lot of laughter, crazy jokes, and rubbish talk, amidst serious conversations.

I forgot how much I love Perth. It's not so much about the place, but the people who are there. Thanks darlings for the great time and we will do this again soon!!! Love love love!!
