Today was my last lesson for the semester. It's so fast!! It seemed to be just yesterday that I reached Perth, and having my first lesson and stressing about my presentations. Now, I have completed 4 units, done 2 presentations and completed 4 papers. It's such a relief cos I've been working like a dog on those papers for the last 2 mths and I'm going to enjoy my well deserved break.

My family's coming this Sat. I can't wait. Bring them around, show them my uni, my place, cook for them. And then we are going to Melbourne for a family trip. This is a first. No, Batam and Malaysia do not count. Everyone's really excited. It's my mom's first trip on a plane so she's really psyched. I can't wait to see everyone. Especially my niece and nephew. They must have grown like crazy!

And I decided to go to Sydney from Melbourne. With Anjuli. She's coming to Melbourne mid June, and we are going to Sydney from Melbourne. Probably spend about a week there. Some backpackers lodging or something. With a toilet in the room, not some communal toilet. I can't deal with that. Have some friends with Sydney so will be great to see them again and hpefully, they'll show us around. I figured that since I'm already in Australia, I might as well travel around. November might be tough for me to travel around cos Fatima and Anri are thinking of going to New Zealand and they are asking me to come along. I told them I would love to but I have to see whether I will have the money for it. But going to New Zealand in Nov would be so cool.

So I'm flying to Melbourne next Monday and probably won't blog for a while cos will be busy travelling around with my family.

Something totally random. Weather's nice and cool here. And cos it's autumn, the leaves on the trees are red and yellow, and they scatter all over the ground, It's beautiful. I want to take a picture but it seems crazy to stop in the middle of a road to take a picture. But it's beautiful right now. Love it.

Nad came over for the weekend. I had a house party on Saturday so that she could meet all my friends. It was a lot of fun. A lot of food, a lot of noise and a lot of people. And cos we went clubbing after my house party, Nad did make up for all the girls. And me of course. We went to Metro City, and I had such a great time. Metro City plays hip hop music and it is a huge ass club in Perth City. A lot of hot guys, a lot of scary looking ones but it was all good fun. I danced like crazy. Been so long since I actually danced. Think the last time was with Wendy and Vidhu when we went to Clarke Quay almost 2 years ago. I didn't take pictures in the club cos cameras were not allowed so only pictures at my house party and the rest of the time I was with Nad.

At Freemantle.

Hanging out at my place with Anjuli. She skipped all her classes and sat at my place for hours just talking.

Tues morning, just before she left for the airport.

Now that she's gone, I've got to get back to doing my paper. One last one to go and I am done. And I have boked my air tickets back to Singapore!! 11th to 30th July! Got the tickets for really cheap. AUSD$430. Thank god I waited till the price went down. I saved about AUD$150.

Can't wait to see all my friends, and spend time with my family. :) For now, I'm going to slog over the last bits of my assignment and am waiting for next weekend when my family comes down. :)

I had a very laid back weekend, with friends. The week was just madness, with me trying to complete my third paper. But Anri and Foiza came to my place after lessons for dinner on Wed and we hung out till almost 11pm talking. On Friday morning, I went to the city in the morning with Anri to check out cost of air tickets back to Spore. Bloody expensive, almost 1k, and this was supposed to be a discounted price. Think I'll just book my tickets online. Yeah, I'm probably coming back on the 11th of July, till the end of July. Mom wants me to come back, and since she said she was going to pay for my air tickets, why not? It would be nice to see my friends again. Had dinner at Ti Amo, an Italian restaurant off my place with Anri and Fatima on Fri evening, and hung out at Fatima's place till 11pm. And cos we are such girls, we started trying on Fatima's clothes and she gave me a gorgeous black off shoulder Guess Top, and a white Zara turtleneck cos she can't fit into them anymore. :)

I spent my Sat morning cleaning my apartment and then had Japanese food at Subiaco for lunch with Anri. I had udon. I hate Japanese food, but cos she really wanted to have Jap food, I went along. And it was surprisingly edible. No..it was actually pretty good. :) Then, went back, changed, and went out again to meet Fatima. We had dinner out and watched a movie. Made of Honour. Patrick Demspsey is so dreamy. Good movie. I liked the ending. A bit cliched but I like happy endings. It's a little like My Best Friend's Wedding, but this time round, the best friend who is getting married is a girl. And Best Friend's Wedding was sad cos Julia Roberts did not end up with the guy. Ok, I'm ruining it for those who want to watch the movie. Anyway, it was nice hanging out with Fatima. She's a lot of fun.

And I spent my whole Sunday in my room slogging over my paper cos I felt really guilty about doing negligible work on Sat. And Foiza and Anri came to my place at night to try on my clothes cos we are going to a club next Sat since Nad is coming and there are two birthdays amongst my friends. And they spent 2 hours trying on my clothes, and accessories, and I did their hair for them, and we took photos of each other..it was such a girlish evening..A lot of fun though.

Things are looking good on the papers front. I should be done with my 3rd paper by tonight. Which would leave me with one last paper before it's all over. At least for this semester. Looking forward to seeing my family again. And going to Melbourne. And Singapore. :)

I have been slogging over my papers for the past 3 weeks. Aside from the Margaret River Road trip last 2 weekends and going to Fatima's Mexican-themed party last Saturday, I've been camping out in my room and the library. I haven't even exercised in 2 weeks!

Doing a 5000 word paper is such a tedious process. And the papers are important cos I have no exams, and for 2 of my units, the paper constitutes 100% of my whole grade. It's like a do or die mission.

It's been so long since I wrote papers, the last being when I was in university and even then, the most number of words was 3000. Here, I spend 2 days organising what I want to have in my paper and sourcing for journal articles, and books, and other resources, then I spend at least 2 days reading them and drawing out the necessary points for my paper, then I spend 2 days organising the points and another 2 full days to actually write the damn thing out. What frustrates me the most is referencing. Freaking hell man. I thought it would be the easiest thing, but it's actually the hardest. Took me bloody 4 hrs to get my referencing right. Almost killed myself. I spend 3 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs at night on weekdays and 5 hrs straight on weekends working on the papers.

I've completed 2 out of 4 papers. Just completed the 2nd one yesterday night. I don't think they are fantastic papers but I think it will suffice. I have 2 more to go, and they are the hardest. I'm actually working like a dog cos Nad is coming to visit next weekend, so I must make sure that my 3rd paper is completed so I can have fun with her without stressing out over my work. And my family would be coming down in the week when the papers are due so in essence, everyone else doing the course has an additional 2 weekends (And a lot can be done in 2 weekends) but cos I have family and friends coming to visit, I have less time. So yes, I'm slogging now but when everyone else is stressing out and slogging, I would be relaxing. :)

I'm so stressed about this that I actually came down with a fever and flu. I'm such a stress head. Urgh.... Hopefully the next time I blog, I would be almost through with paper no 3. I can't wait for end May to come...
