Been a while since I last blogged. A lot of things have happened in school. My boys went for their 3rd and 4th placing rugby match, against ACS Barker. It was supposed to be a tough game, and we have been defeated by them so many times. I went down to support my babies, and they played their hearts out. I, being my usual bimbotic self, went down in my nice dress, and handbag and high heels, cos this was after school, thinking that there would be chairs for us to sit on. Apparently, St Andrews (that's where the game is played) has no chairs at the rugby pitch so I ended up standing and cheering my boys on. Very exciting game. My school won, by a slim margin 8-5. My boys were excellent. Charging against some of the ACS boys, whom I swear, look like elephants. My boys are tiny, very thin n lean. But they are fast. I swear, I was screaming so hard the next day I had a slight sore throat. But it was very nice to see them all so happy and in a euphoria after the win. YAY!

And on an even happier note, I have finally confirmed my holiday plans for June! And...I am going to not just one destination but two! I'm going to Melbourne in for a week, June 1 to 7. To see Nad, enjoy the cool weather since it's winter there, and have a good break doing nothing. And Nad's siblings are angels and they love me and I have the best fun with them. :) I remembered being in Melbourne for 3 whole weeks last year during my winter vacation and I had the best time. And I love Melbourne. Great weather, great people, Nad is there, great shopping, and to make things even sweeter, the tickets were going at really cheap as well! Only $450, plus taxes on Emirates. HOW CHEAP IS THAT? So yeah, Im off to Melbourne the minute the school hols start.

And 2 days after I get back, I AM OFF TO GREECE! Yes! I am going to Greece! Greece is one of my must-go places before I die (amongst many other countries like Spain, Russia, Scotland and South Africa). I actually have been saving Greece for my honeymoon cos the islands are just soooooooo romantic. Have you seen Santorini? Sigh....But I don't think I'm going to get married anytime soon, and I decided, what the heck. I will just do it on my own. Why should I wait around to go to one of my dream destinatons?
It has been a while since I last went on a proper trip. I know, I know. Most of my friends are rolling their eyes at this juncture cos they think that I was on a year holiday last year. It's different! I was studying last year, and was on a tight budget. I did travel around Australia but it's different. And cos I was saving up for my studies for the past 2 years, the last really far place I went to was Egypt in 2005. 2006, was Melbourne and Cambodia and 2007 was Bangkok. So after a 3 year lapse, I am restarting on my long haul trips. And what better way to start it than to go to Greece?
I'm going with Kat. For 12 whole days! :) 4 nights on the islands of Mykonos and Santorini, and we are on our own. I so can't wait. Sun, sand, beach, beautiful scenery, gorgeous landscapes, hopefully hot men.... Hee...And 6 more nights in Athens where I will get to see the Acropolis, Panthenon, The Temple of Olympian Zeus, amongst many other exciting historical sites. Oh..and it's summer in Greece so it is the best weather to travel through Greece and it's islands. YAY! I can't wait!

Why am I taking 2 trips this time round? Cos I have had a very stressful 5 mths, and I'm going to have an even more stressful 5 more months when school starts again in July. I am ladened with so much work and responsibilities this year it's crazy. So I figured that I need the break, hence the double holiday.
For now, I just have to grit and bear with the work and monotony for 5 more weeks and then I'm off. Oh...and I better start working extra hard at the gym cos I wanna look hot in Greece. I don't want to be prancing in my bikini on Santorini and Mykonos and having jiggly bits. Very not hot. :)

After a long absence, I finally hit the gym today. I have been insanely occupied and busy with work since I got back from Perth. I come into work at 7am and leave at 6pm. Every single day. Which means by the I leave school, I'm too darned exhausted to do anything but to just go home and vege in front of the tv and go to sleep. I haven't exercised in 4 weeks!! 4 Bloody weeks! I feel fat. And pudgy. Urgh... It didn't help that I was sick the week before I left for Perth and the week after I came back as well.

So today, I lugged my gym things, and right after school, I made my way down to California Fitness at Somerset. I thought I was going to be a weak ass at the gym cos I figured I haven't exercised like forever, so my body probably can't take too much. But I managed to still do a 6km run, and a 5km bike ride, and then I continued with a yoga class with Dr Ram. Dr Ram saw me and said..'It has been a long time..' LOL! That's how long I haven't gone! 2 hours of exercise. Anyway, my body feels used and abused and battered but I feel so much better. Definitely going to have a sound sleep tonight.

It's Sports Day this Friday. I'm looking forward to that. Been a while since my last Sports Day. Will be great to be with my kids and cheering them on as they run. I'm taking part in the staff relay race but I'm going to suck cos it's a short distance sprint and I'm more of a long distance runner.

Talking about that, I'm going to take part in a 5km run at East Coast beach with my school's track and field team at the end of May. I'm hoping to do a half marathon at the end of the year, so am trying to build up the distance. 5 km first, then maybe the NIKE 10km run later on, and build it up to the 22 km run eventually. We'll see how that works out.

It's been a week since I came back from Perth. I have been so busy. I guess getting 3 days off from work means I have to make up majorly for it. The marking, last minute Speech Day preparations, my band SYF Competition (which we got a silver for, by the way. YAY!), lesson preparations, coupled with the fact that I was sick and didn't have enough sleep worsened everything. I touched down Singapore on Mon at 4am, and after 1 hr of sleep, I woke up and went to work at 630am. And had a full day of lesson, plus Speech Day rehersal, and only came back at 8pm. And it has been like that until Friday. So my body obviously couldn't take it and I got really sick. Urgh..But am much better now.

Anyway, enough with the whinging. I had a really good time in Perth. I tried to meet up as many people as I could, but it was hard cos I had my family with me and they needed me to bring them around. So I was able to meet up with Sharifah and her husband and baby (they shifted to Perth cos her husband had a change of job posting), and Fatima ( had coffee, and, pancake, and ice cream and potato wedges with her. It was so much fun! Just like old times. I miss her terribly. We are hoping to go to Boracay at the end of the year with Anri, and relive the good old times. Love you baby!), and Ryan (I met him for dim sum. His sms to me before he met me: 'Dress nice. And don't wear a bra.' LOL! Still the same. Idiot. But it was so good to see him again after such a long time. We ate, bitched, gossipped, ate, bitched again. Best.), and I met Chin Mai and Ram where we went clubbing at Northbridge (I brought my cousin, Izan along, and he was impressed by the clubbing in Perth. :) ). Those were the people I managed to meet up. It was nice to meet people who really love and care for me. Very good feeling. And I really really miss Perth and the people there. I forgot how beautiful it is, and how relaxed I am when I'm there... It's like a whole different Khai in Perth and in Singapore. Maybe because it's reality in Singapore.

And my convocation was a blast. My robe was beautiful, and I felt smart wearing it. LOL! I took loads of pictures, as always. And my family looked so proud. :) This is another one of my goals in life achieved. I remembered telling myself when I first started work, I wanted to complete my Masters before I turn 30. And I have done it. A lot of work, saving up and determination but I have successfully done it. Something I'm really proud of. :)

So here are the pictures. Well overdue.
