So, I have turned 31, and honestly speaking, there is absolutely no difference in the way I feel. This year, my birthday was spent in Bangkok. Had a blast there. I ate like a horse, indulged in massages, bought a whole load of new clothes...Was really fun. And Bangkok wasn't crazy hot like it was the last two times I went. It was actually cold! And I spent 3 out of the 4 days there with a cardigan around me!
I had kind of a quiet birthday. Aside from my Bangkok trip, my family gave me a treat. A high tea at our favourite Carousel. It was nice hanging out together, we seldom get together and birthdays are the best occassions for the family to get together.
So this year, I have made a resolution to worry less about getting older, and focus more on being happy. And 3 months into the year, I must admit, I am much happier and healthier. I am eating well, exercising hard, working hard, and playing as hard. :) So let's hope this positive spirit in me continues, and I am looking forward to many more birthdays. For now, I have to get through this term, which is a killer term, and then Im off for a long haul break. Yay! :)

I met up with the girls last Sunday. It has been a while since we last met, and since then, Wendy has gotten preggers. She is due early May and she looks good pregnant. Angela and I went to meet her for a late lunch after our hot yoga class and we headed down to Marmalade Pantry.
We actually wanted to do high tea at Goodwood Park but it was fully booked so we decided to try out Marmalade Pantry since I've heard a lot of good things about it. And it was pretty awesome. It is like an all day breakfast restaurant serving food like pancakes, french toast, a gazillion flavoured cupcakes, and your regular pasta and sandwiches. And because Angela and I were starving from our class, we ordered a crabmeat linguini with pine nuts (majorly yum), French toast with banana and maple syrup (to die for), lemon ricotta pancakes (this was disappointing. It was more like a cake than a pancake. BOO to this!) and then cos we were still hungry after, we ordered a side of fries. And we just sat down and talked and ate for a few hours. :)
It's always nice to meet the girls up. I have known Wendy since she just started off as a teacher and we used to do so many things together. We would share stories about our classes with each other, complain to each other, go out for dinner and coffee all the time, travelled together. She is married now and of course things have changed but Im glad to say that we still meet up outside of school every now and then, usually during the term break. She is heavily pregnant now, and she looks cute pregnant. She is expecting a baby girl, and people say that when you are carrying a girl, the mother always looks like crap (bloated, water retention, big noses...Dont ask me about the big noses part. Thats what they all say.) but she doesn't. Aside from the tummy being like a balloon, she doesn't really look fat. Which is good, cos she is really paranoid of looking like a giant...:)
But it was nice to just end off the school term meeting up with my closest friends over good food....And here are the pictures which we took. Been a while since we last took pictures..

I am in the midst of my common test marking but I am so brain dead from marking essays after essays of traffic policies (I mean, seriously, WHO CARES ABOUT HOW EFFECTIVE THE ERP OR COE IS??????) and I have been at it for days! So yes, I have decided to take a well deserved break before I start the crunch again and blog.
So last weekend has been a fairly productive weekend. I like productive weekends as it means I have not wasted it away. Met Maya on a Thursday to celebrate her birthday, then went out for drinks at the Esplanande on Fri, went to school Sat morning for band, and then I decided to go for a massage after. I also met Angela for dinner on Sat night at Brussel Sprouts at Robertson Quay where I had the best mussels I have tasted in Singapore and then ice cream at Haagen Daz..Fatty right? Urgh...We had a platter of ice cream. And of course, Sun was spent doing my hot yoga and then had high tea at Fairmont with my family to celebrate my sister's bithday.
The most productive part of my weekend?? While I was on my way to my massage place on Sat morning. I saw a huge crowd gathered across from my spa. This was at Thomson Plaza by the way. Of course, being a Singaporean, I was curious and snooped my nose in to see what the commotion was. IT WAS.................A KATE SPADE SALE!!!!!!!!!! Arggh!!!!!!!!!! I have promised myself not to buy anymore expensive bags cos I basically spent like a gazillion dollars from my last trip to Paris on bags, and I already have a million Kate Spades right? But I couldn't deal with how cheap it was!!! And this was the damage done..Ok, fine...These were the damage done...
So yes, it was a very good weekend, despite the damage done to my wallet. Nvm, take it as a birthday gift to myself since it is coming soon! YAY!! Ok, I better get back to my marking. SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Queen Renwick Street in Pink
Stevie Thompson St Noel in Black
Stunning right??!! Yay!! So cheap!! Cos they imported it from New York itself! The pink one was only $235 (sale price at Kate Spade Taka is $450) and $335 for my St Noel (sale price at Kate Spade Taka was about $590). It took me 10 mins to just grab them both and paid for them. Urgh....I got home, with this huge paper bag, and my mom went like...'Are those more bags??' And I just went...'Uh....well...cheaplah mom..' LOL! So now I have 6 Kate-s. And I just received a $150 voucher from them cos it's my birthday month and I am a VIP member there! Urgh!! I am going to pass the voucher to my sis, unless I see something drool-worthy. So yes, it was a very good weekend, despite the damage done to my wallet. Nvm, take it as a birthday gift to myself since it is coming soon! YAY!! Ok, I better get back to my marking.
