I had a really good Hari Raya. Spent the whole Mon and Tues baking and cooking for Hari Raya. I made sambal goreng and sayur lodeh, Anri made beef rendang and Foiza made chicken briyani. It was a lot of work. We cooked till 1am on Tues morning and I woke up at 8am on Hari Raya itself to boil the lontong (it was instant lontong) and make the lodeh. But it was so worth it cos my food tasted exactly like mom's Hari Raya food. :)

Thank God I have Anri and Foiza to get excited about Hari Raya with me. We congregated at Foiza's new place and invited a few of our closest friends. We ate, we drank, we talked, we laughed. And took loads of pics. :)

Tues night, baking with the girls. I was greasy and oily.. Highly unattractive.

The product of our baking. Chocolate chip cookies.

And honey cornflakes.

Cos I didn't bring along my kebayas, I had to wear this. Something remotely Hari Raya-ish..

Waiting for everyone to come.

Mark, as spaz as always..He's the only guy we would allow on our laps..:)

Ryan darling. He was out for a whole 2 weeks cos he caught a bad flu.. I like this pic. Both in white.

Grace darling...

After everyone left.. I was exhausted.

So it wasn't realy a typical Hari Raya for me but the essence is still there. Great company with people I love, good food, and a quiet kind of spirituality, being in a foreign land during this happy and holy month. :) But for now, it's back to the grinding stone. I need to start work again!
